Raising AI Awareness for the Age of Intelligence

An independent AI awareness project

Awareness is the difference between using AI and being used by it.

Ramdos is a small, independent project to teach what artificial intelligence actually is, what it can and cannot do, and which trade-offs you are quietly being asked to accept. No pitch, no hype — just a clearer view.

The same technology

Every promise of AI is also a risk.

Most coverage of AI sorts capabilities into "good things" and "bad things." That framing is wrong. The system that translates a refugee's testimony is the same system that fakes a politician's speech. Tap a card to see both sides of the same technology.

01

Generation

A model that writes a sentence is a model that writes any sentence.

Tap to flip →
Promise

Drafting, translation, accessibility tools, code completion, tutoring in languages a learner has no human teacher for.

Risk

Phishing at scale, fabricated news, fake reviews, impersonation. The cost of producing a convincing lie has dropped to near zero.

02

Recognition

Anything a model can identify, it can also be used to track.

Tap to flip →
Promise

Earlier cancer detection, search-and-rescue from satellite imagery, real-time captioning for the deaf, finding lost children.

Risk

Mass surveillance, facial recognition without consent, behavioural profiling, stalking tools sold as productivity apps.

03

Prediction

Forecasting a flood and forecasting a person use the same math.

Tap to flip →
Promise

Weather, disease outbreaks, equipment failure, crop yields — saving lives and resources by anticipating events early.

Risk

Predictive policing, credit scoring that punishes neighbourhoods, insurance models that price people out of care.

04

Automation

The tasks AI is best at are also the tasks people are paid for.

Tap to flip →
Promise

Removing drudgery from work — paperwork, scheduling, repetitive review — freeing humans for judgment-heavy tasks.

Risk

Job displacement concentrated on the people least able to retrain, while productivity gains flow upward to those who own the systems.

05

Personalisation

A system that knows you can serve you — or sell you.

Tap to flip →
Promise

Tutors that adapt to a child's pace, medicine dosed to a body's chemistry, interfaces that work with any disability.

Risk

Manipulation tuned to your weaknesses — the ad, the headline, the argument calibrated to whatever you cannot quite walk away from.

06

Autonomy

A system that acts on its own removes a person from the loop.

Tap to flip →
Promise

Self-driving rescue drones, automatic emergency braking, factories that respond to faults faster than any human supervisor.

Risk

Autonomous weapons, trading systems that cascade, decisions about people made by software no one can be held accountable for.

Each section explains one part of the picture. Read them in any order — they're written so each stands on its own.

What Ramdos is for

Awareness is not the absence of fear. It is the ability to name what you are looking at — to see a system clearly enough to make a real choice about it.

Ramdos is built around a small wager: that ordinary people are not too busy or too distracted to understand AI, only badly served by the people currently trying to explain it.

Read what is here. Argue with it. Use the chat in the corner to push back. The goal is not for you to agree — it is for you to leave with better questions than you arrived with.
